Rom-Com Cocktails
Below are the cocktails we have paired with each movie. Along with the pictures of each cocktail, we have included the website/source where we found the cocktail and if we liked it or not.

Bloody Mary
Paired with How Do You Know. Bloody Marys are funny cocktails because everyone makes them a certain way and swears by a certain type of Bloody Mary mix. Our favorite is Zing Zing (not pictured), which comes in conveniently sized cans. Bloody Marys—best with brunch/breakfast—are a classic and very filling. We didn't really use a recipe per say, just directions from the mixers with a dash here or there of whatever flavors we like best (more Tabasco, celery salt, etc.).

Alabama Slammer
Paired with Sweet Home Alabama. This cocktail ended up being sickeningly sweet. The first couple sips were okay and not overpowered by the cherry flavor, but by the end, it was sitting like a lump at the bottom of our stomachs. Stick with the shot form! Recipe found at: https://www.liquor.com/recipes/alabama-slammer/

Bend and Snap Cocktail
Paired with Legally Blonde. This drink is TART. If that's your jam, you will love this drink. To be fair to the recipe, it calls for pomegranate syrup, which we didn't order, and the pomegranate juice was not enough to cut the tart of the 1.5 ounces of lime juice. Recipe found at: https://creative-culinary.com/vodka-pom-juice-ginger-beer-recipe/

Two Tickets to Paradise
Paired with Tickets to Paradise. This drink is amazing! It's easy to make and has great tropical flavors. Now, we did not blend it, as we both enjoy carbonated drinks and thought making it into a frozen margarita-type drink would take that away. We served it over ice and don't think we lost any of the tasty impact. We have made it again since the podcast. Two thumbs up! Recipe found at: https://www.sparklingice.com/recipes/recipe/two-tickets-to-paradise/

White Chocolate Martini
Paired with Bros. This drink isn't anything groundbreaking. It's a standard recipe, and a martini recipe at that. That means that this is very alcohol heavy. If you're not used to drinking a lot of alcohol, this may be too much for you. It is a smooth drink, but just be ready for that burn. Recipe found at: https://cocktails.foodviva.com/cocktail-recipes/godiva-white-chocolate-martini-recipe/

Sunflower Cocktail
Paired with Ghosted. This drink got mixed reviews from us. One of us thought it was fantastic, and the other thought it had too much elderflower liqueur. We recommend upping the amount of lemon juice to cut through the amount of elderflower taste. Recipe found at: https://www.allrecipes.com/recipe/247191/sunflower-cocktail/

The Pitch Perfect
Paired with Pitch Perfect. We chose two drinks for this movie (because for each drink one of the ladies was repulsed by the recipe). Marie's pick was the Pitch Perfect, chosen because the name is the same of the movie. This cocktail was definitely the better of the two for Pitch Perfect. Even though it may sound extremely sweet, the ginger cut through the sweetness and balanced out the drink nicely, and the cherry flavor from the amaretto was not overpowering. Recipe found at https://www.drinknation.com/drink/the-perfect-pitch

The Breakfast Club
Paired with Pitch Perfect. We chose two drinks for this movie (because for each drink one of the ladies was repulsed by the recipe). Allison's pick was the Breakfast Club, due to the fact that the Breakfast Club movie played a large part in the development of the romantic relationship in Pitch Perfect. Allison was okay with this drink until the bottom, where all the sugary milk had settled. Marie didn't like the drink from the get-go. Porn Star Martini
Paired with Zack and Miri Make a Porno. This drink was picked because the main characters are trying to be porn stars to pay their bills. We had mixed reviews for this drink: Allison really liked it whereas Marie thought the vanilla vodka didn't jive well with passion fruit puree. It is a unique flavor that we recommend trying. He's Just Not That Into You
Paired with He's Just Not That Into You. The reason for this pairing is obvious—the names are the same. This drink is fine. There are many different variations of this recipe out there, and they all taste relatively the same. It's not super flavorful, but it's not offensive either. The Pink Slip
Paired with Freaky Friday. This drink was an absolute delight. For the second drink, we ended up increasing the amount of cranberry juice as we couldn't taste it during the first round; however, we STILL couldn't taste it in the second drink. We determined it's only there to turn the drink pink. There is a slight grapefruit taste that may results from the cranberry/lemon combination. The Dirty Cinderella
Paired with A Cinderella Story. This drink was fine. It wasn't great; it wasn't disgusting. It was drinkable. There are better recipes out there, but it is easy to drink. It reminded one of us of a French 75 but not as good. Recipe: https://cocktailswithclass.com/cinderella-cocktail/

The Penelope
Paired with Penelope. We were happily surprised by this drink! It is a lot of ingredients (you can buy strawberry rhubarb puree ahead of time if you're thinking). This drink may seem like it would be too sweet, but it is not. The orange juice and strawberry rhubarb cut down on the sweetness, and it was a very well-balanced drink. Highly recommend! Singing in the Rain
Paired with Singing in the Rain. This is a summery drink that sneaks up on you (until after your first drink). You don't think this is going to taste high alcohol, but it does. Having said that, we did enjoy this drink, but recommend upping the seltzer amount in order to get more bubbles. This recipe calls for lemonade, and we highly recommend using Simply Lemonade. It is lemonade perfection. Recipe: https://favoritedayevents.wordpress.com/2013/01/18/drinkingintherain/

Drink #2: The White Knight
Paired with White Christmas. We were a bit worried about this drink because it contains scotch and Drambuie is a scotch-based liqueur. However, this drink turned out to be a pleasant surprise! It is well-balanced, and the cream blends surprisingly well with the scotch. It doesn't hurt that we used Patron coffee tequila, which is excellent. Drink #1: White Christmas
Paired with White Christmas. Our opinions on this drink were different. Allison was okay with it but likened drinking it to accidentally eating some mint toothpaste. Marie enjoyed the drink but thought it was too heavy to have more than one. If you like coffee and mint flavors, this drink is for you. We did cut back on the crème de menthe, and it still featured prominently in the flavor profile, so be careful when you add it. Recipe: https://www.farmwifedrinks.com/white-christmas-cocktail/

The Ski Breeze
Paired with Fallen for Christmas. This is a larger drink, and it consists of three flavors that you wouldn't normally put together: raspberry, apple, and ginger. Whereas the drink is okay, it's not one that we will rush to have again. If you have these three ingredients, and you need a way to get rid of apple cider, give it a whirl; otherwise, skip it.

Apple Pie
Paired with Son-in-Law. This movie revolves around Thanksgiving and American farm life, so we decided to go with a cocktail based on a traditional American dessert. This drink was an easy one to make and drink. We recommend not letting it sit around too much as the cream will separate from the liquid, and please don't skimp on the quality of the apple cider.

Racecar
Paired with The Prince and Me. This movie has two ridiculous racing scenes, and one cameo by a famous racecar driver, hence the Racecar cocktail. This recipe calls for a high-proof bourbon, so it packs a punch. However, for non-bourbon drinkers (like Marie), the other flavors balance the strong taste so that it is quite delightful. Also - we did not torch a thing! The recipe can be found here: https://www.great-taste.net/recipe/race-car/

The Sleepy Hollow
Paired with Sleepy Hollow. Unusual for us, but we chose another Mezcal drink recipe. This one was not as tasty as the Practical Magic drink recipe, but it isn't a bad drink. It's drinkable, but it's a simple drink. For the amount of work that needs to go into making this drink (you do have to make the simple syrup), it's not worth the effort. Midnight Margaritas
Paired with Practical Magic. Even though we are typically not a fan of tequila, specifically Mezcal, we actually really enjoyed this drink. For the second drink, one of us substituted regular tequila for the Mezcal, and it was not as good. This drink references the most iconic scene from the movie when Gilly wakes Sarah up for drinking with the aunts!

Mighty Aphrodite
Paired with Destination Wedding. This is a take on a mimosa. The thyme does add a nice subtle herbal flavor, but we recommend leaving the leaves on the stalk so you don't have to pick the little leaves out of your teeth! Perfect for a more fancy-seeming brunch drink (and pear juice does just fine - no need to find pear nectar)! Link: https://tasty.co/recipe/fancy-cocktail-mighty-aphrodite

Flower Drop
Paired with Plus One. This drink was delightful!
We are going to work it into our regular drink rotations! We knew we would like this, which is why we chose it. We wanted something we knew we would enjoy.

Fancy Rum and Cokes
Paired with The Wedding Singer. Rum and cokes were mentioned multiple times in the movie, which we know are standard drinks. We used different flavors of coke and pepsi to put a spin on this. The best drink of the night was coconut rum and root beer! It's like an alcoholic root beer float! Link: https://www.thrillist.com/entertaining/rum-and-coke-upgrade

Dumpster Fire
Paired with The Wedding Planner. This drink is pretty heavy, so gear up! We always converse about how much is a dash when it comes to bitters. We both liked this drink a lot! Link: https://umamigirl.com/dumpster-fire-cocktail/
